ABOUT

About me

I am passionate about several things, but first, I am so thankful that Christ guides my life—He is my rock and friend when everything else in life goes haywire. I can honestly say I still have JOY even when we’ve gone through really difficult trials—only He makes that possible.

Second, my husband makes me laugh every day and I think somewhere it says that laughter is good for you!

Third, my kids. We feel blessed to have three of them. And we were very surprised to get three redheads. Thus, the name of my blog.

We homeschool—and love, love, love it. But don’t let that fool you into thinking there aren’t days when I want to pull my hair out. You can read about why we homeschool and what we love about it here. My kids love lapbooking, so I started creating lapbook components to enhance our Story of the World lessons. You can find those here: SOTW VOL.2 and  SOTW VOL.3

We eat clean—most of the time. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in April of 2007 and started eating clean as a way to treat my disease without being on drugs the rest of my life. You can read about that journey here. You can check out my adapted recipes here. I generally cook gluten free, lactose free and sugar free (using only honey or pure maple syrup for sweeteners—no refined or artificial sugar).

I used to scrapbook—a lot. I used to design for and teach at Green Tangerines Scrapbook Store. They closed in November 2012. Before they closed, I found that I had less and less time to scrapbook as my kids got older and I needed to put more time into homeschooling. Since they closed, I have switched to Project Life memory keeping and I love it! I am generally up-to-date within a week of events taking place—and it takes me less than an hour per week! My kids LOVE looking at our family albums. You can check out past scrapbooking posts by clicking on the "scrapbooking" link on the right hand side of my blog and you can check out my Flicker gallery here (I do not have ALL the layouts on my blog within Flicker, but many of them). Oh, and I still make time for making cards—you can find those posts unders "cards" on the right hand side. Who doesn’t love a handmade card?

I hope you find this to be a place of encouragement. Have a blessed day!
